Irvine Ranch Historic Park
Not officially Old Town Irvine, but it’s a historic portion of the city. Located just at the border of Irvine and Tustin just south of the Tustin Market Place, the plot of land where the Katie Wheeler is situated is called Irvine Ranch Historic Park. If you visited, you’d ask, “why is this place called a park?” Well, the city was planning to turn this plot of land into a public space. Instead, it’s turned into office space with no clue as to what capacity these offices are used for. In any case, the name is misleading. But, the buildings are original pieces of old Irvine-cana.
These somewhat newly renovated (office) buildings are still somewhat debilitated looking sorta reminds me of the houses at Salton Sea.
Again, although we’re in middle of winter, there are lots of fall leaves for Ellis to play with. I wonder how much longer could I keep Ellis entertained with dead leaves?
After we were done with the debilitated buildings, we started heading for the library.
These pictures were taken a month ago during the tail end of New Years weekend. This is juxtaposed to the very warm weather we’ve been receiving during the past week. Chinese New Years in Southern California was unusually warm.
